Alert: Short Pump Middle School closed Thursday, Sept. 3

Important school status update: A team of contracted technicians worked through the night to install additional portable air conditioners across a portion of our building; however, despite the ongoing work, morning readings remain high. Based on current classroom temperatures coupled with the forecast record high heat, Short Pump Middle School will be closed today for all students and staff.

I, along with our central operations staff and division leadership, will continue to monitor the situation and take action throughout the day and over the long weekend. I continue to appreciate your patience and understanding as we have navigated this challenging situation. The safety of our students and staff is and will continue to be my number one priority.

Thank you,

Dr. Seal
